FAQs
The Experience
Anything you'd like to know before your first flight?
A High Flight is an available upgrade in each first time experience for an additional $10 per person. During the High flight, guests are able to fly higher and faster with their instructor than they would fly on their own. The high flight occurs during the last 15-20 seconds of the guest’s final flight.
We welcome flyers from 3 to 103. If you have reasonable health and fitness you can fly. But do check the criteria below before you book. We’ll do everything we can to help you fly because our goal is to deliver the dream of flight to everyone!
There are a few exceptions:
- Flyers must be over 3 years of age or older.
- Participants must weigh less than 250 lbs.
- Women who are pregnant may not fly.
- Folks with recent back, neck and heart problems should check with a doctor before flying.
- iFLY recommends people with prior shoulder dislocations DO NOT FLY!
If you have any concerns or questions about whether or not you can fly, contact us. Everyone who flys must complete a Flight Waiver, which contains further details.
All first-time flyers are required to take the training class. You’ll get a lot of important and helpful information as well as some pre-flight practice of your flying position.
Yes, feel free to eat before your scheduled flight session. You won’t get any feeling of motion sickness, nausea, or dropping feeling in your stomach.
Yes. We have larger goggles that fit over eyeglasses.
Yes. You should remove any items that might flap around or become loose, such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, and hair accessories. In addition, you should remove everything from your pockets. We do have lockers for your use, but we recommend that you leave anything valuable at home as we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen property.
Our primary concern is for your safety in the flight chamber so the tricks or flips are done by experienced flyers only. Some flyers are able to do turns, move up and down, and forward and backward during their first flight. Be sure to ask your instructor how to advance your flight skills.
The instructors are trained to grasp the handles of your flight suit should you need spotting.
Please wear well-fitting, lace-up sneakers, or running shoes. Other shoes are not suitable. Wear casual clothes, preferably pants and a shirt without a collar. You won’t have to change out of these clothes—you’ll put your flight suit on over your street clothes.
The iFLY experience lasts approximately an hour in total. This will cover your check-in time, the training session, your flight time, and time after your flight to remove gear and talk to your instructor about progressing. Save time by completing your waiver ahead of time.
Flyers can be as young as 3 years of age and there is no upper age limit. Children under 18 years of age need to have a parent or guardian sign their waiver. It can be signed here.
